The president of the association is responsible for ensuring the elected committee acts within the scope of the constitution. The president acts as the chair at all VBRA Knox Branch executive meetings. The president is the contact person for the different KBInc committees and acts as an executive member on the Knox Basketball Incorporated executive to speak and vote on behalf of the branch.

The president acts as a coordinator for the branch ensuring that each role is being completed efficiently and taking action when this is not the case.

The president along with the treasurer is responsible for ensuring that the branch does not make decisions that may place the branch in financial difficulties.

The president along with the rest of the committee are responsible for setting the pathway for the branch and encouraging the members to take positive steps to improve their refereeing.

The vice president also acts as the Appointments Officer for the branch. The primary role for the vice president is to watch over all appointments made ensuring that all appointments are made in a fair and reasonable fashion and that referees are given appropriate notice of all appointments.

The vice president act as chairperson for the Appointments Committee which is made up of all of the supervisors. They will also act as chairperson for the executive committee in the event the president is unavailable.

The secretary is responsible for the collection and holding of all correspondence. The secretary will respond to all matters concerning the branch and act as the main contact point for the branch.

The treasurer is responsible for overseeing all financial matters concerning the branch. The treasurer will receive all monies tendered and keep sound financial records to be audited annually. The treasurer is also responsible for authorizing all monies paid out in conjunction with the secretary and president if between meetings. The treasurer is also responsible for ensuring the executive committee is well versed in our financial position and making recommendations where necessary.

The VBRA Delegate is responsible for staying versed in all matters relating to the VBRA and reporting back monthly to the executive committee on any matters that may concern them.

 Position Description (Tribunals Delegate):

The Tribunals Delegate is responsible for ensuring that all branch members are made aware of any tribunal hearings that they may need to attend. They will also ensure that a representative from the branch is sent where necessary. This person will report back to executive monthly to allow them to act where required on any issues.

The minute secretary is responsible for ensuring that all minutes relating to the branch are completed and made available to the members on request. The minute secretary may need to liaise with members of other branch committees to ensure their minutes are also being completed in an appropriate time frame.

The past president acts mainly as a guide and support person to the current president but has the same responsibilities as the committee members.

The adviser is employed by Knox Basketball and his roles and responsibilities are set by them and the VBRA state body. Some of these responsibilities include:

• Upgrading of officials.
• Running beginner referee schools.
• Running A Grade referee schools.
• Ensuring enough referees are nominated for the Junior Panel.
• Liaising with the VBRA Knox referee branch to ensure all referees are being evaluated / coached regularly.

An added responsibility is to coordinate the referee coaches ensuring they remain well versed in the rules and teachings from Basketball Australia.

Committee Members are responsible for ensuring the voice of the referees is being heard by the executive. These are the people that we encourage referees to see if they have an issue so that it can be raised with the executive and hopefully resolved.

Committee Members are expected to have an active role in meetings and vote on issues when necessary.
